Police handle case of slashing between traders in Cileungsi

Police are handling a case of a disturbance between traders in the Cileungsi area, Bogor Regency, West Java, which resulted in three people being injured by axes.

Cileungsi Police Chief, Commissioner Edison, explained that the incident that occurred  evening started from the annoyance of a catfish pecel trader with the initials W towards a coffee trader with the initials U who was said to often behave badly and disrupt his business.

"The victim's behavior there was not good," said Edison, Thursday.

The perpetrator admitted that he often harmed the victim, starting from damaging the stall, chasing away buyers to placing live chickens which made his sales area dirty.

"So the victim was often disturbed," he said.

The situation escalated when the perpetrator saw the victim drunk around. A commotion ensued, culminating in the perpetrator slashing the victim with an axe.

"The victim was drunk and intoxicated. A commotion ensued, and the pecel vendor immediately aimed an axe at the victim," he explained.

Two of the victim's friends who tried to intervene were also targeted and injured. Of the three victims, some are still receiving treatment in the hospital.

"Three people were injured. Some are still in the hospital, while others have returned home," he added.

After receiving the report, police immediately arrived at the scene and detained the perpetrator and his nephew for further questioning. The nephew is suspected of holding the victim before the stabbing.

"The nephew held the victim because he was afraid he was carrying a machete. Then, when he grabbed him, his uncle hit him," he said.
