"We continue to coordinate with various parties and strive to accelerate network recovery so that customers can enjoy smooth communication services again," said Nurdianto, General Manager of Network Operations & Productivity Region for Sumbagut, Telkomsel, in a statement.
Nurdianto explained that Telkomsel's telecommunications service disruptions in Sibolga and Central Tapanuli were caused by landslides and flooding affecting several transportation network points. Furthermore, widespread power outages also impacted network quality in the region.
