Organizers have launched the official medals for the 33rd SEA Games and 13th ASEAN Para Games, featuring a distinctive blend of Thai sports and art motifs.
Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) Governor Kongsak Yodmanee said the medal design is aesthetically pleasing, durable and a symbol of pride for the athletes.
"I am confident these medals will be a symbol of victory and will instill pride in every athlete," Kongsak said, as quoted from the official SEA Games Thailand website on Monday.
The medal design also aligns with the main theme of "Play by the Rules," a concept that emphasizes the values of rules, discipline, fairness, and sportsmanship.
The design combines traditional Thai striped motifs with frame lines inspired by sports arenas to reflect the host nation's identity and symbolize regional cooperation among ASEAN countries.
The medal material is said to be durable and designed to withstand impact; the surface coating of gold, silver, and nickel is designed to be chip-resistant.
