The Chairman of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PB ESI), Budi Gunawan, said that young athlete Michael Julius Cezar's silver medal win in the eFootball Console event at the 2025 Bahran Asian Youth Games (AYG) was the result of tiered coaching.
"This achievement is concrete evidence of PB ESI's commitment to systematically and hierarchically developing athletes," said Budi Gunawan in a written statement received in Jakarta on Saturday.
"Michael Julius Cezar's silver medal at the 2025 Asian Youth Games is the result of hard work, discipline, and the competitive ecosystem we've built from the grassroots level."
Budi Gunawan added that this achievement was not the end, but rather an important stepping stone.
"We won't stop here. This is the momentum to continue working hard to make Indonesia a dominant esports force on the global stage, in line with our long-term vision," said Budi Gunawan.
Success at AYG 2025 validates PB ESI's national strategy focused on youth athlete development.
