Transmigration Minister Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara is strengthening the transformation of transmigrants through intensive mentoring that emphasizes research on local potential, increasing productivity, and accelerating economic development.
"We have a Patriot Expedition Team, whose job is to conduct research and map economic potential while also providing assistance to the community," said the Minister of Transmigration on the sidelines of the handover of 402 land ownership certificates (SHM) to transmigrants in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, on Thursday.
He presented a concrete example of economic transformation in the form of increasing the size of dragon fruit produced by transmigrants in Muna Regency, from two ounces to one kilogram after receiving assistance with appropriate fertilization, care, and cultivation management techniques.
This success demonstrates that the synergy between mentoring, knowledge, and community commitment can multiply production output and open up new economic opportunities in transmigration areas.
"The Patriot Expedition Team provided assistance and then told them to fertilize the crops. "The fertilizer should be this type, and the yield should be this, each crop weighs 1 kilogram. This is a clear example of a community without assistance and a community with assistance," he explained.
The mentoring program is part of five main programs, including Trans Tuntas, which provides land security as a foundation for economic development for transmigrant communities in various regions.
The Minister of Transmigration stated that economic assistance not only increases production but also encourages the development of modern farmer characteristics capable of utilizing technology and fertilizer appropriately for maximum results.
