The Minister of Youth and Sports collaborates with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to oversee all transformation programs.

Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir has partnered with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to oversee all programs in the transformation efforts at the ministry he leads.

"I have asked the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to comprehensively oversee the Ministry of Youth and Sports' evaluation and transformation program," Erick Thohir told the media after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with BPKP Head Muhammad Yusuf Ateh in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The Minister of Youth and Sports explained that his party is currently re-drafting 191 regulations, the derivatives of which will produce strategic programs.

The programs that will be produced, he said, are in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's order to place national character building as a very important thing, in addition to making sports an ambassador for the nation that reflects greatness.

He mentioned the strategic programs in question, including focusing on developing 17 sports branches in the National Sports Grand Design (DBON).

Developing priority sports, he said, is not easy. He noted that the benchmark for sporting achievement is medals won, but implementing complex programs varies from one sport to another.

The Minister of Youth and Sports cited examples such as badminton and tennis, where athletes compete in a circuit system. He said this system differs from swimming, where swimmers are sent to train abroad as part of a long-term national training camp.
