Qualcomm introduced its latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset , which is positioned one level below the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 series but still offers a flagship- class mobile performance experience at a more affordable device price.
As reported by GSM Arena on Wednesday, this new chip is still manufactured with a 3 nanometer process and is equipped with a third-generation Oryon CPU, consisting of two prime cores with a speed of 3.8 GHz and six performance cores running at 3.32 GHz.
In terms of capabilities, Qualcomm compared the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 released two years ago. The results show the new chip delivers up to a 36 percent increase in CPU performance, an 11 percent increase in GPU performance, a 46 percent jump in AI capabilities, and a 13 percent increase in overall system power efficiency.
