Google is limiting the use of its Nano Banana Pro artificial intelligence system to create images for free due to high user demand.

Engadge on Friday cited documents supporting 9to5Google's findings , which stated that according to Google, free users can now only create two images per day, down from three images per day previously.

The company said the restrictions were imposed because the image creation and editing features were in high demand.

"Limits are subject to change and will be reset daily," Google said in a statement.

Google also appears to be limiting the free version of Gemini 3 Pro. According to company documents, non-paying users will receive basic access with a daily usage limit that is subject to change.

When it launched Gemini 3 Pro on November 18, the company promised to fulfill five free service requests per day like with Gemini 2.5 Pro.

However, the limits for users of Google AI Pro and AI Ultra paid service packages remain unchanged, namely 100 and 500 requests per day, respectively.
