Medical sources reported "two martyrs killed by Israeli occupation army fire near the barracks area north of Rafah."
On the other hand, the occupation army announced that it had opened fire on Palestinians (whose number was not specified) in the southern Gaza Strip, claiming that they had crossed the "yellow line".
The “yellow line” is the first withdrawal line stipulated in the first phase of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which began on October 10th.
This line separates the areas where the Israeli occupation army is still present on its eastern side from those where Palestinians are allowed to move around on its western side.
The Israeli army claimed in a statement that "terrorists were spotted crossing the yellow line and approaching army forces in the southern Gaza Strip, posing a direct threat to them."
He added: "The army forces, from the air and the ground, eliminated the saboteurs," according to his expression.
The bodies of 45 martyrs were received
Meanwhile, the Gaza Health Ministry announced on Monday that it had received the bodies of 45 Palestinians released by Israel and transferred to the Gaza Strip through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, bringing the total number of bodies received by Palestinian authorities in Gaza since October 14 to 270.
The ministry said in a statement that it had received "45 bodies of martyrs who were released today by the Israeli occupation through the mediation of the Red Cross."
She continued: "This brings the total number of martyrs' bodies received to 270."
Out of 270 bodies, only 78 have been identified, while medical teams continue their procedures to complete the examination, documentation and handover of the bodies to their families, according to the ministry.
On October 28, the ministry reported that the total number of bodies identified from the 195 bodies received from Israel at that time was 75.
According to today’s statement, the Ministry of Health has identified only 3 additional bodies in recent days, due to the lack of features on the bodies received, as some of them had decomposed, and others had their features obliterated under Israeli torture, burning, and abuse.
The Ministry of Health had previously announced in statements that the bodies it receives from Israel bear signs of abuse, including beatings, handcuffing, blindfolding, and changes in facial features, and without names.
Palestinian government data indicated that some of the bodies were burned or run over by Israeli vehicles.
The handover of these bodies came a day after the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, handed over the bodies of three Israelis that were recovered from Gaza.
This is happening within the framework of a ceasefire agreement whose first phase began on October 10th.
Palestinian families identify the bodies of their sons through remaining distinctive marks on their bodies or from clothes they were wearing before they went missing, amid the absence of testing equipment due to the Israeli blockade and the destruction of laboratories in Gaza.
The death toll has risen
In this context, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday that the number of Palestinians killed by Israel since October 11 has risen to 238, despite the ceasefire since October 10.
The ministry said in a daily statistical statement: “Ten martyrs, including two new martyrs, arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, and eight were pulled from under the rubble.”
The ministry did not refer to the circumstances of the killing of the two Palestinians, but previous statements by the government media office in Gaza and the Hamas movement confirmed that the occupation had committed dozens of violations of the ceasefire agreement.
According to the data, these violations include firing from Israeli vehicles, drones, and aircraft directly at Palestinians, or by shelling, within the areas west of the "yellow line" in which Palestinians are allowed to move, according to the agreement.
The ministry reiterated that there are victims under the rubble of homes destroyed by Israel during two years of genocide, noting the inability of ambulance and civil defense crews to reach them.
Israel is preventing the entry of heavy equipment and machinery to lift the rubble and retrieve the bodies of Palestinians. Palestinian estimates indicate that there are 9,500 missing persons as a result of the war, either under the rubble of destroyed homes, or their fate remains unknown.
Ismail Thawabteh, Director General of the Government Media Office, considered Israel’s prevention of the entry of heavy equipment a violation of the humanitarian protocol of the agreement, which stipulates allowing the entry of hundreds of such vehicles.
This comes at a time when Israel is racing against time to retrieve the remaining bodies of its captives in Gaza, whom Hamas is searching for and recovering from under the rubble in fulfillment of its obligations under the ceasefire agreement.
In this context, Israel allowed, more than a week ago, the entry of some equipment to search for the bodies of its prisoners, according to Hebrew media, disregarding the thousands of Palestinian bodies under the rubble.
In the same context, the Ministry of Health said that since October 11, it has recovered about 510 bodies of Palestinians who were killed in the roads and streets or were close by under the rubble of some destroyed houses.
For two years, on October 8, 2023, Israel began a war of genocide in Gaza, with American support, which left more than 68,000 martyrs and more than 170,000 wounded, and caused destruction to 90% of the infrastructure in the sector.
