The World Boxing Council (WBC) announced that two undefeated fighters, Diego Pacheco and Kevin Lele Sadjo, will meet in the ring to fight for the WBC Silver super middleweight (76.2 kg) title in California on December 13.
"This fight adds crucial relevance for the winner in their quest for a world title shot in 2026," the WBC said on its official website, as monitored in Jakarta on Friday.
Pacheco entered the fight with an undefeated record and had pocketed 24 wins including 18 wins achieved via knockout (KO).
In his most recent fight, the American boxer defeated Steven Nelson and Trevor McCumby in 12 rounds, marking his third fight this year.
The upcoming fight could be Pacheco's first step towards full-fledged world title contention.
Pacheco will face a tough challenge in Sadjo, who is also undefeated with a record of 26 wins (23 knockouts). Sadjo will be making his debut in the United States.
Despite his success in Europe and Africa, this fight on American soil will be the biggest stage in the Cameroonian's career to date.
For Sadjo, the upcoming fight is an opportunity to shock the division and emerge as a genuine threat at super middleweight.
