The Axios website reported that the US administration prepared a draft resolution and sent it on Monday to some members of the Security Council.
The website noted that the draft grants the United States and participating countries broad powers to administer Gaza and ensure its security until the end of 2027, with the possibility of extending the mandate later.
The website quoted an unnamed US official as saying that the draft resolution would form the basis for negotiations between members of the Security Council in the coming days.
The draft resolution is expected to be put to a vote in the coming weeks with the aim of bringing it into effect and sending the first units to Gaza by next January, according to the source.
The US official explained that the international force would be "executive" and not "peacekeeping," and would include forces from several countries, tasked with securing Gaza's borders with Israel and Egypt, protecting civilians and humanitarian corridors, in addition to training a new Palestinian police force.
The project also includes tasking the international force with destroying the military infrastructure in Gaza, disarming the Palestinian factions, and ensuring that the sector is free of weapons, including disarming the "Qassam Brigades," the military wing of the "Hamas" movement, if this is not done voluntarily.
This international force is one of the components of Trump’s plan, on which the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, in place since October 10, is based.
The agreement ended an Israeli war of extermination, supported by the United States, which began on October 8, 2023, and left 68,865 Palestinian martyrs and more than 170,000 wounded, most of them children and women.
