Will Jefferson joins Kesatria Bengawan Solo as assistant coach


  The Bengawan Solo Knights have recruited Will Jefferson as their new assistant coach for the 2026 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL), which begins in mid-January.


Based on the IBL page quoted in Jakarta, Thursday, the man who is identical with dreadlocks, previously had the status of development trainer , at Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta (now Satria Muda Pertamina Bandung), in the 2025 season.


"Welcome Will Jefferson. His basketball soul is at play, transforming court vision into team mission," wrote the Knights in an official statement on their Instagram (IG) account.


Jefferson is known as an experienced coach in player development. Before coming to Indonesia, he was involved in various training programs at the college level in the United States (US).




While at Satria Muda, his presence was focused on improving the individual abilities of the players, including team captain Abraham Damar Grahita and his teammates.


Following Jefferson's arrival, the Knights management hopes to strengthen the coaching team led by Anthony Garbelotto.


The club, based at Sritex Arena, Solo, Central Java, is targeting improved performance after experiencing inconsistent results in the previous season.


After joining, Jefferson reportedly began working with the rest of the coaching staff to prepare the pre-season program. Their primary focus is on building discipline and improving the tactical skills of the young Kesatria players.


Will Jefferson's presence is certain to add quality to the coaching staff of the Bengawan Solo Knights, who continue to strive to become a new force in the national basketball scene.




With an experienced coaching staff, the club hopes to compete at the top of the league and create a solid playing identity that will appeal to fans.
