"Within the framework of a two-state solution"... Prince bin Salman: We wish to join the Abraham Accords and are looking forward to the peace process in Gaza

“We want to join the Abraham Accords (to normalize relations with Israel) within a framework that guarantees a two-state solution and peace between Palestine and Israel,” said Bin Salman during a joint press conference with US President Donald Trump following their meeting at the White House.

In recent days, Israeli officials, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have renewed their rejection of the establishment of a Palestinian state, despite it being stipulated in resolutions issued by the United Nations.

For decades, Israel has occupied Palestine and territories in Syria and Lebanon, and refuses to withdraw from them and allow the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the pre-1967 borders.

Mohammed bin Salman added: "We are looking forward to the peace process in the Gaza Strip, and we care about the Palestinian people."

With American support, Israel has been waging a two-year war of genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 69,483 martyrs and 170,000 wounded Palestinians, most of them children and women.

Based on a plan proposed by Trump, a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel began on October 10, which the latter violates daily, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of Palestinians.

Mohammed bin Salman continued, "We will discuss with President Trump the reconstruction of Gaza, and we will hold talks about what Riyadh will provide... and there is no specific amount yet."

The Israeli war of extermination caused the destruction of 90% of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at around $70 billion.

"A historic day"

Regarding his country's relations with the United States, Mohammed bin Salman said: "We have worked with America for decades, and today we consider it a historic day for our future relationship," describing the relations between the two countries as "strong."

He added that "the late Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden tried to destroy our relationship with the United States, and it is essential to strengthen cooperation between our two countries to combat terrorism."

On the economic front, Mohammed bin Salman stated, "The United States is an important country with a strong economy, and it is important for us to invest with it." He continued, "We have investments across various sectors that connect us with America. We are working on real investment opportunities with the United States, including in the fields of computing, chips, and semiconductors."

He continued: "We will announce today or tomorrow that we will increase our investments in the United States from 600 billion to about one trillion dollars."

Regarding the new agreements between the two countries, the Saudi Crown Prince stated that they cover areas including artificial intelligence, raw materials, and minerals. He added, "We want to ensure the continued growth of our GDP and, consequently, address labor shortages through artificial intelligence."

Agreement with Iran

Regionally, Mohammed bin Salman said that "it is good to have an agreement with Iran for peace in the region."

The United States and regional countries accuse Iran of having an expansionist agenda in the region and interfering in the internal affairs of Arab countries, including Lebanon and Iraq, while Tehran says it adheres to the principle of good neighborliness.

Israel, its ally the United States, and regional countries accuse Iran of seeking to produce nuclear weapons, while Tehran maintains that its program is designed for peaceful purposes, including generating electricity.

Last June, Tel Aviv, with American support, launched a war on Iran, and the latter responded by bombing Israel with ballistic missiles and drones, before Washington announced a ceasefire between two countries that each considers the other its fiercest enemy.

Upon his arrival at the White House, the Saudi Crown Prince received a grand official welcome, with US President Donald Trump at the forefront of those receiving him, at the start of a three-day official visit that began on Tuesday, according to the official Saudi news channel, Al-Ekhbariya.

She added that 21 artillery rounds were fired, while 6 warplanes flew over the White House, welcoming Mohammed bin Salman, the moment Trump received him.

Trump also accompanied the Saudi Crown Prince through the corridors of the White House, where they viewed an exhibition of photographs of former US presidents, and then began a closed bilateral meeting in the Oval Office.
