The Washington Wizards ended a 14-game losing streak with a convincing 132–113 victory over the Atlanta Hawks after CJ McCollum scored 46 points and led the team with offensive play.
The Wizards came out sharp from the start and never trailed, with McCollum hitting 10 three-pointers and missing only three from the arc. The aggressive attack led Washington to a 45-point first quarter and a season-best 77-point first half.
Alex Sarr added 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Wizards to their first home win since April 2. They are now 2-15 (2-15) and remain stuck at the bottom of the NBA Eastern Conference standings.
Corey Kispert also had an impressive performance, scoring 19 points before leaving the field midway through the third quarter with a thumb injury.
