The player was arrested on charges of "fighting and assault" and was later released on bail, while investigations into the incident continue, with permission to fulfill his professional obligations, including traveling if necessary.
Under British law, the player's name and the club he belongs to were not disclosed, in order to protect the rights of the suspect until the investigations are completed or formal charges are filed.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct, and has been released on bail pending further investigation."
Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and more details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
