AFTECH expands digital financial literacy for the younger generation

The Indonesian Fintech Association (AFTECH) is working to expand digital financial literacy among the younger generation in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

"The younger generation is the main driver of the digital economy. They need to be equipped with a solid understanding of how to manage their finances, recognize the risks of digital fraud, and utilize financial technology safely and responsibly," said AFTECH Secretary General Firlie Ganinduto in an official statement.

The activity was held through the Indonesia Fintech Youth Community (INFINITY) education program and was included in the 2025 National Fintech Month (BFN) series and the national #FintechAmanTepercaya campaign.

The activity focuses on equipping the younger generation to be more financially and digitally competent amidst the increasing threat of scams , online gambling, and illegal online loan services.

INFINITY was launched as a follow-up to the findings of the 2024–2025 Annual Members Survey (AMS), which showed that fintech adoption remains concentrated on the island of Java. Therefore, efforts are needed to expand educational reach to areas with significant potential, such as Bangka Belitung.
