The board of directors of the Egyptian Zamalek club took action following the statement issued by John Edward, the sporting director, early Tuesday morning, regarding the difficult circumstances the club is going through, which threaten a complete collapse within a few days.
John Edward issued an official statement addressed to the fans of the White Castle, in which he spoke about the challenges and difficulties facing the football team at the present stage, stressing that out of responsibility and respect for the fans of Zamalek, it was necessary to tell them the whole truth, and to explain the difficult reality that he has been experiencing inside the club since the first day of his taking over responsibility.
Club president Hussein Labib decided to call for an urgent meeting with John Edward in the coming hours to discuss the statement and clarify its implications, especially given the widespread controversy it has stirred among the club's fans.
The meeting is expected to address the confirmation that the current financial crisis is outside the council's responsibility, as well as discuss mechanisms for reaching mutually agreeable solutions with the players regarding financial dues.
The session will also include a discussion of the sporting director’s vision for the future of the coaching staff, along with a comprehensive evaluation of the past period on both the technical and administrative levels, in light of the pressures surrounding the team
