Global user growth of the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT is starting to show signs of slowing, according to the latest data from market analysis firm Sensor Tower.
While still the market leader, ChatGPT's dominance is now starting to come under pressure from Google Gemini, which is recording faster growth in a number of key indicators.
As reported by Tech Crunch on Sunday, ChatGPT currently holds around 50 percent of global download share on mobile devices and 55 percent of total monthly active users worldwide.
However, in the last few months, Gemini has been deemed to have surpassed ChatGPT in terms of download growth rate, monthly active user growth, and app usage time growth.
Sensor Tower notes that Gemini's consistent increase in adoption has the potential to narrow the gap with ChatGPT.
The competition between these two AI giants is far from over. Both ChatGPT and Gemini are still recording significant annual growth.
