Indonesian petanque athlete Andri Irawan contributed a gold medal for the Indonesian contingent at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand after becoming the best in the men's singles event at Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the royal patronage, Pathum Thani, Wednesday.
This victory is an important addition to the Indonesian medal tally, and also strengthens petanque's position as a sport that is starting to be relied upon in multi-event competitions in Southeast Asia.
"Thank you to all the Indonesian people who supported us, the Indonesian Petanque Team, and we were able to win a gold medal. There are still many other events to compete in, so hopefully we can win more medals," said Andri after the match.
