Arsenal secured their place in the 2025/26 English League Cup (Carabao Cup) semifinals after defeating Crystal Palace 8-7 in a penalty shootout after the two teams played to a 1-1 draw after extra time.
The quarter-final match took place at the Etihad Stadium in the early hours of Wednesday (24/12) WIB. Two goals in regulation time were scored near the end of the second half.
The hosts took the lead through an own goal by Maxence Lacroix before Marc Guehi equalized for Crystal Palace in injury time. Only one penalty was scored by Crystal Palace in the penalty shootout.
With this result, Arsenal has qualified for the semifinals and will face Chelsea in a two-legged duel scheduled for mid-January and early February 2026, as reported on the official EFL website.
