"Assassination of Truth": A book from the Turkish Presidency exposes Israel's systematic war on journalists in Gaza

The book was published in three languages – Turkish, English, and Arabic – and focused on the systematic targeting of journalists by the Israeli occupation during its attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023, according to a report on the book published by the Communications Department on Wednesday.

The book includes a foreword written by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in which he revealed that the targeting of journalists and the destruction of communication infrastructure in Gaza were deliberate attempts to silence voices trying to uncover the truth.

The book presents testimonies and documents about the bombing of journalists’ homes and the targeting of their families, in addition to recounting the lives of 283 journalists who were killed by Israeli forces, including 37 women.

In his introduction, President Erdogan stressed that the history of humanity has always witnessed wars and conflicts, and that what we know about them today is due to the fact that they were documented

The Turkish president also stressed the importance of journalists and their role in recording events and conveying the truth to future generations, warning that Israel is targeting journalists who seek to uncover what is happening in Gaza.

The Turkish president pointed out that Israel’s crimes will not be hidden despite its attempts, and that brave journalists continue to report on what is happening in Gaza in all its details, even if the price is their lives.
