Banjarbaru Police officer who killed ULM student faces 20 years in prison and dismissal
  Head of Public Relations for the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Adam Erwindi, said that Banjarbaru Police officer Bripda Muhammad Seili (MS), a suspect in the murder case of a Lambung Mangkurat University student with the initials ZD (20), faces a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.

"From the results of the case title, the suspect was charged under Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning ordinary murder in conjunction with Article 365 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with violence (having taken the victim's jewelry)," said Adam in a press conference revealing the murder case of the ULM student at the Banjarmasin Police Headquarters, Friday.

Adam explained that the article on the violation of the law was imposed after various elements conducted an in-depth case review.

"The article that was applied temporarily is based on the results of the investigation," he said.

Adam revealed that an autopsy on the victim's body revealed bruises on the victim's neck and semen on the victim's genitals. Police then questioned witnesses before arresting the perpetrator in Banjarbaru City.

The police have also secured various pieces of evidence, CCTV (showing the suspect's car stopping at the location before dumping the victim's body), as well as the victim's belongings, including shoes, the victim's motorbike key, underwear, the victim's helmet, jewelry, and cell phone.
