Earlier Spanish reports suggested that Rafinha might leave Barcelona, claiming that he had reached an agreement with the club's management allowing him to leave for Saudi Arabia if he received a large financial offer.
Those reports indicated that there was a special clause in the Brazilian player's contract with Barcelona that allowed him to leave for the Saudi League for a certain amount of money, but this clause was not disclosed.
Rafinha ended the controversy by writing on his Instagram account: "I really don't know where they get all this nonsense from. Well, this is where fake news always appears. It's great."
Mundo Deportivo commented on Rafinha's response, explaining that the Brazilian denies these reports and categorically states that his intention is to continue at the Catalan club, with whom he renewed his contract last summer until June 2028.
Rafinha's contract with Barcelona expires in 2028, however Barcelona are considering signing him to a long-term contract.
