The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman added in a press conference in Doha on Tuesday that "mediation efforts regarding the Gaza agreement are continuing to work to ensure that the current truce does not collapse in light of worrying (Israeli) violations of the agreement."
Al-Ansari stressed that “every breach of the truce in Gaza represents a threat to it and weakens its impact,” and pointed out that “the truce is in place and we are building on it, and we are working to transform it into a path to reach the second phase of the agreement.”
Israel is conditioning the start of negotiations to launch the second phase of the ceasefire agreement on receiving all the bodies of the prisoners, and claims that there are still the remains of two prisoners in Gaza, while Hamas says that it has handed over all twenty living Israeli prisoners, and the remains of all 28 dead prisoners.
In contrast, there are 9,500 missing Palestinians killed by the Israeli occupation army, and their bodies remain under the rubble of the war of extermination, according to the Government Media Office in Gaza.
Gaza Reconstruction Conference
In a related context, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty announced on Tuesday that his country is coordinating with the United States for a joint presidency of the Gaza reconstruction conference, to be held as soon as possible.
This came according to what Abdel-Aati stated in a press conference in the German capital, Berlin, which he arrived in on Monday for an official visit of undisclosed duration, aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries and discussing regional and international issues.
In response to a question on this matter, Abdel-Aati said: "We are consulting with the United States to form a joint presidency for the reconstruction conference, and we are coordinating on a date." He added: "We hope to agree on a time as soon as possible to hold this conference."
The Egyptian minister's remarks are his country's first comment after the conference was not held on its scheduled date at the end of last November.
On October 10th, a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Tel Aviv came into effect, which was supposed to end an Israeli campaign of genocide that left more than 70,000 Palestinian martyrs and about 171,000 wounded.
But Israel repeatedly violated the agreement, causing deaths and injuries among Palestinian civilians, while Hamas declared its commitment to the terms and called on the mediators to compel Tel Aviv to implement them.
