Erdogan: We will not remain silent until the killers of 71,000 martyrs in Gaza are held accountable... and we will continue to support Syria.
This came in a video message he delivered on Wednesday, on the occasion of the New Year, in which he said: “We will not succumb to intimidation and we will not remain silent until those responsible for the martyrdom of 71,000 of our brothers in Gaza, most of them children and women, are brought to justice, and we will never allow this genocide to be forgotten.”

He added: "The ceasefire achieved in Gaza with our contributions is still in place thanks to the wisdom of our brothers in Gaza, despite all of Israel's violations."

The Turkish president continued: "We are working hard to stop the Israeli attacks, accelerate the arrival of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and enable the start of reconstruction efforts."

On the Syrian issue, Erdogan affirmed that Ankara will provide the necessary support to Damascus for the peace and security of the Syrian people, noting that Turkey’s policy, which is centered on right, justice and conscience, is reflected in the region, particularly in Syria and Gaza.

He said that Syria is witnessing an acceleration in recovery after the December 8, 2024 revolution, and is making remarkable progress towards political stability, noting that the consolidation of stability contributes to increasing the voluntary return of Syrians.

He added that 2025 saw the return of 600,000 Syrians from Türkiye to their country, expressing his confidence that a strong and politically unified Syria would make exceptional contributions to its surroundings and the world.

He stressed: "We will provide the necessary support to the new administration for the peace and security of the Syrian people without discrimination between Arab, Kurd, Turkmen, Sunni, Shiite, and Alawite."

Regarding the Eastern Mediterranean, the Turkish President said that his country is closely monitoring the escalating provocations and threats targeting its interests and the interests of the Turkish Cypriot people, stressing: "We will never turn a blind eye to the imposition of a fait accompli, theft, or piracy in the Blue Homeland."

He also noted Ankara’s continued efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian war, which is entering its fifth year, and to work towards achieving a just and lasting peace as soon as possible.

On the economic front, Erdogan stressed that Turkey is seeking to crown the gains it has made during the current year with a package of reforms, explaining that the positive results of the economic program have become tangible, with continued reductions in inflation, strengthening of the central bank’s reserves, and an increase in the pace of production, investment, employment and exports.

He added that his country had achieved consecutive record numbers in several areas, from tourism to defense industries, saying: "We intend to crown the economic gains during the new year with reforms, and we will, God willing, put Turkey's Century of Reforms into effect step by step with the support of Parliament."
