The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the number of Palestinian victims of the Israeli genocide since October 2023 has risen to "71,269 martyrs and 171,232 wounded".
The ministry added in a statement that hospitals in the sector received "3 martyrs, including one new one, and 2 recovered bodies, in addition to 10 injuries" during the past 48 hours.
The statement did not provide further details regarding the circumstances of the deaths and injuries, while Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025, by carrying out bombing and shooting operations against Palestinians.
According to the statement, Israel has killed 415 Palestinians and injured 1,152 others in violation of the agreement since October 11.
Direct losses
The Government Media Office said on Wednesday, during the "Comprehensive Annual Update of 2025 Statistics," that "the initial direct losses in 15 vital sectors are estimated at more than 33 billion US dollars during 2025 in light of the continued repercussions of the genocide against our Palestinian people."
In the agriculture, livestock and fisheries sector, he pointed out that the marine fishing sector was 100% damaged, in addition to the destruction of more than 80 percent of the agricultural lands out of 178,000 dunams. He noted the decline in the areas planted with vegetables from 93,000 dunams to 4,000 dunams, and the destruction of 1,000 agricultural wells and 500 farms for cows, sheep and poultry.
Regarding losses to infrastructure and public facilities, the office reported the destruction of more than 700 water wells, 3,080 kilometers of electricity networks, 400,000 linear meters of water networks, and 400,000 linear meters of sewage networks.
The Israeli occupation army also destroyed more than two million linear meters of roads, 150 government headquarters, 250 sports and cultural facilities, targeted 208 archaeological and historical sites, and dropped more than 112,000 tons of explosives on the sector during 2025, in addition to destroying nearly 90% of the urban infrastructure and controlling about 55% of the sector’s area by military force.
The health and education sectors
In the health sector, 22 hospitals became out of service during 2025, and 211 ambulances were attacked by the Israeli occupation army, in addition to the destruction of 23 civil defense vehicles.
In terms of education, the Israeli occupation army completely destroyed 30 educational institutions and partially destroyed 39, and 95% of the schools in the sector were damaged. More than a thousand students, 88 teachers, and 45 academics and researchers were killed.
Destruction and displacement
The Israeli aggression led to the complete destruction of 34 mosques, the partial destruction of 100 mosques, the targeting of 3 churches several times, and the destruction of 21 out of 60 cemeteries.
The Israeli occupation army completely destroyed 106,400 housing units, rendered 66,000 units severely uninhabitable, and partially damaged 41,000 units.
This led to the displacement of more than 213,000 families and the forced displacement of nearly two million people, and the targeting of 87 shelters, according to the same source.
In addition to the victims, the genocide that Israel began on October 7, 2023 with American support, and which lasted for two years, left behind massive destruction affecting 90% of the civilian infrastructure in the sector, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at about $70 billion.
