A medical source reported that the Baptist Hospital in the center of Gaza City received the bodies of two Palestinians, one of whom was a child, along with six injuries as a result of heavy artillery shelling that targeted, on Tuesday evening, an area in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, which is located within the areas from which the occupation army withdrew, according to the agreement.
Shortly before that, four Palestinians were injured in an Israeli artillery bombardment that targeted the same area, according to the medical source, without providing further information about the health condition of the ten injured.
On Tuesday, Israel killed two Palestinians, including a journalist, and wounded five others in several separate attacks in the Gaza Strip.
Medical sources reported that photojournalist Mahmoud Wadi was killed in an Israeli bombing of the center of Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip, which is among the areas from which the army withdrew.
No statement was immediately issued by the government media office in Gaza regarding the attack, but according to the latest statistics published by the office in late October, Israel has killed 256 journalists in Gaza since October 7 , 2023, bringing the total to 257.
The Israeli army shot and killed a Palestinian man in the Zeitoun neighborhood east of Gaza City earlier today, according to medical sources. The area where the shooting occurred is within the areas from which the Israeli army has withdrawn.
Meanwhile, the Civil Defense in Gaza announced that 5 Palestinians, including two women and two children, were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation army firing bullets towards homes in the Al-Sanafour area of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, which is located within the areas from which the army withdrew.
These attacks are an extension of a series of Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement signed between Hamas and Israel, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, and sponsored by the United States.
According to the government media office in Gaza, the Israeli occupation army violated the agreement 591 times, killing 357 Palestinians and injuring 903 others up to last Sunday.
Release of prisoners
In a related context, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, received five Palestinian prisoners released by Israel on Tuesday, according to the Prisoners' Office of Hamas.
This comes as part of the occasional releases of prisoners from the Gaza Strip, who have been held for months in Israeli prisons that lack the minimum humanitarian standards and where they are subjected to torture, according to documented testimonies.
The Prisoners' Office said in a post on the Telegram platform that "the occupation forces released 5 prisoners who arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the middle of the Gaza Strip," and indicated that those released were transferred to the hospital by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The office did not provide details about the health condition of the released prisoners, but former detainees reported that many of the released prisoners were suffering from malnutrition and injuries resulting from severe physical torture inside Israeli prisons.
Israel released about 1,700 prisoners from Gaza on October 13, as part of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that went into effect on October 10.
Most of those released at that time arrived in poor health, and a number of them spoke of being subjected to torture, starvation, and humiliation inside Israeli prisons.
More than 10,000 Palestinians, including children and women, remain in Israeli prisons, suffering torture, starvation, and medical neglect, which has led to the deaths of many detainees, according to Israeli and Palestinian human rights organizations.
The Israeli genocide that began on October 7, 2023, left more than 70,000 Palestinian martyrs and about 171,000 wounded, most of them children and women, and massive destruction with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at about $70 billion.
