Gaza: Israeli forces kill 5 Palestinians, and rain floods hundreds of tents for the second day.

Medical sources and eyewitnesses said on Wednesday evening that the Israeli occupation army committed several violations of the ceasefire agreement that has been in place since October 10, through direct gunfire and military incursions in the northern, central and southern parts of the Gaza Strip.

Sources reported that the bodies of Karam Zannoun (16 years old) and Jihad Shaqfa (17 years old) arrived at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, after they were shot by the occupation army in the Al-Mawasi area north of Rafah, where it was impossible to rescue them due to the dangerous nature of the place controlled by the Israeli forces.

Earlier, an Israeli force, including vehicles, bulldozers and infantry, penetrated hundreds of meters into the "Trans" area and the vicinity of the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, and carried out bulldozing and pushing concrete blocks used as barriers between withdrawal and deployment areas, amid heavy gunfire.

The shooting resulted in the death of the child Zaher Nasser Shamia (16 years old), who succumbed to his serious injuries, after ambulance crews failed to reach him.

In another attack, the bodies of a man and a woman arrived at the hospital after they were targeted by direct gunfire from military cranes erected near the Halawa refugee camp in the town of Jabalia.

Five Palestinians, including two children, were also injured in separate attacks carried out by Israeli drones and artillery in the central and southern Gaza Strip.

According to the government media office in Gaza, Israel committed 738 violations of the ceasefire agreement as of Tuesday, leaving 386 Palestinian martyrs.

Hundreds of tents flooded for the second day

For the second day in a row, heavy rains and the impact of a new low-pressure system caused hundreds of tents of displaced people to flood in various areas of the Gaza Strip, exacerbating the suffering of about 250,000 families living in overcrowded camps that lack the most basic necessities of life.

Hundreds of tents have turned into pools of water since dawn, flooding bedding, clothes, and food, and leaving hundreds of families homeless in the open air amidst severe cold.

On Thursday, the Civil Defense announced the evacuation of dozens of tents that were completely flooded in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, warning of further deterioration if the storm continues without providing alternative temporary housing.

The government media office previously explained that about 93% of the tents in the sector are no longer habitable, amounting to 125,000 tents out of 135,000, and have deteriorated due to Israeli bombing or weather conditions.

Two years of war

Despite the ceasefire coming into effect on October 10, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains unchanged, according to activists and local sources, due to strict Israeli restrictions on the entry of aid trucks.

The war of extermination waged by Israel from October 7, 2023 until the ceasefire took effect resulted in more than 70,000 Palestinian martyrs, 171,000 wounded, and widespread destruction affecting 90% of civilian infrastructure, with losses estimated at about $70 billion.

Today, displaced people face a combination of bullets, cold, and floods, amid a lack of safe shelter and continued Israeli violations that further complicate the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
