As reported by Tech Crunch on Wednesday, through this trial, users who receive a summary of information from artificial intelligence (AI) at the top of search results can immediately ask follow-up questions in a conversational format without switching tabs.
AI Mode, which allows two-way interaction with Gemini models, first launched for users in the United States last May before expanding globally in August.Until now, this feature had to be accessed through a dedicated tab, requiring users to first determine whether the search required a more in-depth dialogue or whether a simple query was sufficient.
With this latest test, Google wants to determine whether the separation of the two features is still relevant. According to the company, information searches often evolve into a need to dig deeper into a topic.
