Harlan Suardi was absent for three months from defending PSIM Yogyakarta.

Goalkeeper Harlan Suardi is confirmed to be out of action for three months from PSIM Yogyakarta for the 2025/2026 BRI Super League season.

Quoted from the club's official website, Thursday, Harlan was unable to defend PSIM Yogyakarta for three months because he suffered a meniscus injury in his right knee during a routine training session.

PSIM Yogyakarta team doctor Hansel explained that previously they thought Harlan had an ACL injury, but after the first examination, those concerns were proven wrong.

"But after consulting with an orthopedic doctor at Bethesda Hospital, it turned out that the injury was to the meniscus (cartilage that acts as a cushion in the knee joint). So, there was a small tear in the meniscus in his right knee," said Hansel.

Hansel explained that Harlan is currently focused on receiving an injury treatment program consisting of rest and physiotherapy, and then two weeks after the injury, the former PSM Makassar goalkeeper will undergo an MRI.

"The possibility of returning to the field is around 6 to 8 weeks, but whether he returns will depend on the results of tomorrow's MRI," said Hansel.

Hansel explained that Harlan received treatment for his injury in the goalkeeper's hometown of Makassar and this was based on the approval of the PSIM medical team.

PSIM agreed to this because they are currently entering a break in the BRI Super League competition and Hansel believes that family support is also very important in Harlan's recovery process from injury.

"A meniscus injury is quite serious for an athlete, so we think that, in addition to medical treatment, Harlan also needs support from his family," said Hansel.

"Because of that consideration, and because the team is also on vacation, we decided to conduct initial treatment in Makassar. The results of every treatment performed in Makassar are reported to us so we can monitor the progress," he said.
