New York requires social media to display mental health risk labels
New York State, United States, now requires social media platforms to display warning labels to alert children and adolescents about the platforms' potential negative impact on mental health.

As reported by Engadget on Sunday, the regulation is contained in a bill that was passed by the New York State legislature last June and signed into law by New York Governor Kathy Hochul on Friday (26/12).

“Keeping New Yorkers safe has always been my top priority since taking office, including protecting children from the potential harms of social media features that encourage excessive use,” Kathy said.
