Indonesian Olympic Committee Chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari confirmed that his institution has conducted diplomacy with the world weightlifting federation so that Rizki Juniansyah and Rahmat Erwin Abdullah can compete in two different weight classes at the 2028 Olympics.
"For your information, the result of this diplomacy is that at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Rizki and Rahmat will no longer be in the same weight class, but will instead compete in the 75 kg and 85 kg weight categories," Okto said.
"If Rizki won gold in the 79 kg category yesterday, and Rahmat also won gold in the 88 kg category, God willing, in 2028, hopefully Rizki will win gold again in the 75 kg category, and Rahmat will win gold in the 85 kg category. After this, we will again measure our abilities at the 2026 Asian Games," he continued.
