Russian psychiatrist and addiction specialist Alexei Kazantsev warned that sweets and candies containing alcohol pose a significant risk to children's health

In an interview with the website "360.ru", Kazantsev pointed out that some children and teenagers have recently resorted to buying these sweets through online shopping platforms, warning that this could be the first step towards alcohol addiction, and could lead to severe poisoning of the body, and in extreme cases to death.

He explained that children's immature brains lack resistance to alcohol, so even a few pieces of these sweets can cause drunkenness and alcohol poisoning, and may open "gateways" to trying other substances later.

He added that the human body continues to grow until the age of 21-22, when the development of the frontal lobe of the brain, which is responsible for decision-making and critical intelligence, is completed, making teenagers more likely to experiment with alcohol out of curiosity, especially with the widespread consumption of it by adults.

These warnings come amid growing efforts to raise awareness of the dangers of alcohol-containing products aimed at young people, amid increasing concern about their effects on public health.
