The Banten Police have sent 100 Brimob personnel to strengthen Operation Aman Nusa II in Aceh as part of efforts to handle the impact of flooding and post-disaster recovery in the region.
Banten Police Chief Inspector General Hengki said this assignment was a form of the state's presence through the National Police in helping communities affected by natural disasters, particularly the floods that hit a number of areas in Aceh Province.
"This assignment involves 100 personnel from the Banten Regional Police Mobile Brigade Corps (Satbrimob) who will carry out humanitarian duties for one to six months, depending on the situation and instructions from the National Police Headquarters," said Hengki when sending off the personnel at the Banten Regional Police Roll Call Field, Serang City, Friday.
According to Hengki, the deployed Brimob personnel are under the Operational Control (BKO) status of the Aceh Regional Police and will focus on humanitarian tasks, including evacuating residents, distributing logistical aid, securing affected areas, and supporting initial recovery with related elements.
"The disaster had a major impact on people's lives, so the presence of the state through the National Police, particularly the Mobile Brigade Corps, is crucial in post-disaster management," he said.
He emphasized that personnel will face tough challenges in the field, ranging from extreme weather, difficult terrain, to the psychological conditions of the affected communities.
