The South Kalimantan regional police apologized for the actions of one of its members, Police Brigadier Second Class Muhammad Seili (MS), who was involved in the murder case of a Lambung Mangkurat University student with the initials ZD (20).
"On behalf of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, we offer our condolences. We apologize, especially to the victim's family," said the Head of Public Relations of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Adam Erwindi, in a press conference on the disclosure of the murder case of the ULM student at the Banjarmasin Police Headquarters, Friday.
He emphasized that the Chief of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Inspector General of Police Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan, had promised to take firm action against the suspect, Bripda MS, who is a member of the Banjarbaru Police.
"We will take firm action against the perpetrators in a transparent manner, in accordance with the Regional Police Chief's directives, both through general criminal proceedings and the National Police Code of Ethics. Thank you for the support of all parties in solving this case," said Adam.
The Head of the Professional and Security Division (Propam) of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Heri Purnomo, said that the code of ethics hearing for suspect MS would be held openly and transparently on Monday (29/12).
He also apologized for the actions of the Banjarbaru Police members.
"I apologize for the actions of my subordinates. They should have been protecting the image of the Indonesian National Police, but instead, their actions damaged it," he said.
