The coaching staff of the Iraqi national football team is awaiting the status of the injured duo, Ayman Hussein and Sherko Karim, to determine the possibility of their participation in tomorrow's match against the Algerian national team in the Arab Cup

The two teams will meet in the third and final round of the group stage of the 2025 Arab Cup tournament held in Qatar.

The head of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, announced that Ayman Hussein will miss the remaining matches of the tournament due to injury, which represents a major blow to the "Lions of Mesopotamia" attack.

Meanwhile, defender Sherko Karim suffered a serious injury during the match against Sudan, which makes his participation in the match against Algeria uncertain until the final medical examination results are released.

The Iraqi national team faces significant challenges, including the absence of several key players and the fatigue that has affected the squad after playing only two matches in the group stage. The team will be playing with a depleted roster, presenting the coaching staff with a difficult test in managing the remaining resources.

Despite these absences, the Iraqi national team has already secured its qualification for the quarter-finals after winning the last two matches against Bahrain (2-1) and Sudan (2-0), and it leads Group D with 6 points.

Meanwhile, the Algerian national team occupies second place with 4 points, and hopes to win to secure the top spot in the group.

The match between Iraq and Algeria will take place on Tuesday at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, in a crucial encounter to determine the group leaders before the start of the knockout stages.
