Apple is reportedly planning to eliminate the physical SIM card slot on its first foldable iPhone and rely entirely on eSIM technology.
As reported by Macrumors on Sunday, the information was conveyed by a Chinese technology leaker known as Instant Digital via the Weibo platform.
"It's likely that this foldable iPhone will come without a SIM slot and only support eSIM," said Instant Digital.
This statement is in line with previous predictions made by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman and Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Based on previous reports, Apple is expected to introduce the foldable phone in late 2026 or early 2027.
