"In the past day, from December 17 to December 18, we saw a significant increase (in BTS recovery), from around 50 percent. At 12:00 a.m. WIB, BTS on air was already at 73.5 percent," said Meutya at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology office.
Meutya said that the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, together with cellular operators, continues to work to restore telecommunications networks in areas still affected, including Bener Meriah, Aceh Tamiang, and Gayo Lues.
"At 73 percent, even though this is an increase, it still needs to reach 100 percent," he said.
Meanwhile, BTS operations in West Sumatra have reportedly recovered 99 percent and in North Sumatra have been operational at 98 percent.
