The Ministry of Communication and Digital is encouraging cellular operators to mitigate the impact of increased rainfall by preparing backup energy supplies to ensure the smooth functioning of telecommunications networks.
To ensure smooth telecommunications services during the year-end holidays, the Ministry of Communication and Digital is monitoring the use of the radio frequency spectrum at 35 Technical Implementation Units (UPT) of the Radio Frequency Spectrum Monitoring Center.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs also deployed a Joint Post Task Force at 255 locations from December 19, 2025, to January 4, 2026, to monitor the quality of telecommunications services.
The Director General of Digital Infrastructure at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, Wayan Toni Supriyanto, explained that joint posts between the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy and cellular operators were set up in strategic locations such as Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Merak Port, Kilometer 57 Rest Area, Tanjung Perak Port, and Tanjung Pinang Port.
Joint posts are also present at tourist attractions such as Kuta Beach Bali, Art Center Rantepao Toraja, and Manado Town Square.
Wayan said that cellular operators are trying to optimize telecommunications networks in busy centers during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
According to him, cellular operators also provide mobile Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) on toll roads and strategic points and prepare promotional service packages for customers during the Christmas and New Year period.
"In addition to maintaining quality, the Joint Post Task Force also aims to maintain public safety by ensuring uninterrupted transportation communications using the frequency spectrum," he said.
