The Minister of Youth and Sports requested input from the Central KONI regarding the deregulation of 191 Ministerial Regulations.

Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir has requested input from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) regarding the deregulation of 191 Youth and Sports Ministerial Regulations (Permenpora) issued since 2009.

"One of the things I said earlier was that we are asking for input (from the Central KONI) regarding what we are currently implementing, namely the deregulation of 191 regulations (Permenpora)," said Erick Thohir after a meeting with the General Chair of the Central KONI, Marciano Norman, in Jakarta, Thursday.

Erick Thohir has been planning to deregulate the Minister of Youth and Sports Regulation since September 2025, after he was inaugurated as Minister of Youth and Sports, replacing Dito Ariotedjo.

This step is part of the transformation and introspection undertaken by the ministry he leads. The Minister of Youth and Sports is targeting streamlining 191 Ministerial Regulations (Permenpora) to under 20 regulations.

One of the regulations to be deregulated is Minister of Youth and Sports Regulation Number 14 of 2024 concerning the Management Standards for Sports Organizations in the Achievement Sports Sector, which has drawn criticism and protests from sports stakeholders.
