The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) and Telkomsel have sent telecommunications facilities to accelerate network recovery in disaster-affected areas in Sumatra.
The aid distributed consisted of 100 generators, 500 mobile phones, 50 batteries, and 50 rectifiers . Fifi Aleyda Yahya, Director General of Public Communications and Media at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, explained that this aid would be prioritized for areas that have not yet fully recovered.
"So, we will focus the delivery of these generators on accelerating recovery in the Aceh region. Currently, we will focus our work on recovery in the Aceh Tamiang, Gayo Lues, and Bener Meriah regions," Fifi said at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.
The generator assistance will be distributed as a backup energy supply to restore telecommunications infrastructure that has not been operational and to meet community needs.
