"Currently, we have followed up on seven applications suspected of being linked to the eagle eye practice by submitting a delisting request to Google," said Alexander Sabar, Director General of Digital Space Supervision at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, when confirmed.
Alexander added that the platform is still conducting further verification processes on other customer data applications that have not yet been uploaded.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs continues to strengthen coordination with digital sector and platform supervisory agencies to ensure the digital space remains secure and to protect the public from personal data misuse and illegal activities in the digital realm.
Regarding the alleged sale and misuse of motor vehicle leasing customer data , Alexander explained that the handling of the application was carried out in accordance with the Minister of Communication and Information Regulation Number 5 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Private Electronic Systems.
The enforcement process is carried out through stages of inspection, analysis, and recommendations to terminate access or delete the application, based on an official letter from the relevant sector supervisory agency, such as the Financial Services Authority or the police.
"The Ministry of Communication and Digital, through the Directorate General of Digital Space Supervision, actively monitors applications or digital content suspected of violating statutory provisions," Alexander said.
