TikTok continues to strengthen platform security to protect users
TikTok has expressed its commitment to continuously strengthening platform security to create a safer, more positive, and more responsible digital experience for all users, especially teenagers.

In a statement Hilmi Adrianto, Head of Public Policy and Government Relations at TikTok Indonesia, stated that various initiatives have been implemented throughout 2025, including strengthening policies, updating security features, expanding public education, and cross-stakeholder collaboration.

"User safety is always our priority. Digital safety isn't just about removing harmful content; it's about ensuring all users, including teens, can create, connect, and express themselves in a safe and positive digital space," he said.

To that end, he continued, his party continues to strengthen protection through policy enforcement, a multi-layered moderation system, digital literacy education, and expanded collaboration with the government and various stakeholders to respond to the challenges in the ever-evolving digital space.

Through a transparent, collaborative approach, the company continues to strengthen its comprehensive platform security management through various initiatives, ranging from digital security education for young users, increasing public awareness, to strengthening policies and enforcement against risky content.

Regarding enforcement efforts against risky content, Hilmi revealed that in the first half of 2025, TikTok removed more than 424,000 pieces of gambling-related content, with over 99 percent removed before being reported by users. Furthermore, around 1.6 million comments promoting gambling were also removed on the platform.

TikTok removed over 25 million pieces of content violating its Community Guidelines, including 232,000 pieces of fraud-related content. Of these, 94 percent were proactively addressed by TikTok's moderation system before being reported by users. The platform also removed over 180,000 paid ads containing fraudulent elements.
