The World Boxing Council (WBC) has reduced the prize money of undisputed middleweight (76.2 kg) world champion American boxer Terence Crawford for humanitarian aid.
"The WBC will allocate 75 percent of Crawford's fight fees to the Jose Sulaiman Boxers Fund, managed by the Nevada Community Foundation," the WBC said in a statement, as quoted from its official website on Thursday.
Terence Crawford became the WBC super middleweight world champion by defeating Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez in a stunning performance last September.
The fight was for the WBC, World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), and World Boxing Association (WBA) titles, for the undisputed world championship title.
The WBC said Crawford, the champion, earned about $50 million for the fight.
