Indonesian tennis player Aldila Sutjiadi and her Mexican partner Giuliana Olmos advanced to the second round of the Australian Open after defeating the home pair in the first round on Wednesday.
Aldila/Olmos secured a straight-set victory over Destanee Aiava/Maddison Inglis in one hour and 47 minutes of play with a final score of 7-5, 6-3, according to Australian Open records.
Armed with a powerful serve, Aldila/Olmos hit 42 winners compared to their opponents' 16 and converted five of 15 break points . The 2025 Guadalajara Open runners-up also excelled in long rallies with volleys and ground strokes.
In the 12-game first set, Aldila/Olmos won the first three games. However, Aiava/Inglis tried to catch up, holding the score at 4-4, then winning 5-4.
