Indonesian para-athletic throwing athlete Ansyari is targeting his best performance at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in Thailand, scheduled for January 20-26, as he attempts to make up for his failures at the previous two editions in Cambodia and Indonesia. He explained that in Cambodia in 2023, he suffered a knee injury before the match, preventing him from contributing to his full potential. Meanwhile, in the Indonesian edition in Solo, his performance also fell short of expectations despite intensive preparation.
"I was a bit confused and didn't achieve the best results in the last two editions," said Ansyari after training at the Indonesian Paralympic Training Center (PPPI), Delingan, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, on Monday.
He explained that the experience of being injured in Cambodia had left its own trauma.
The injury caused his performance to decline during matches, even though he had previously undergone intense training.
However, this experience has now become a lesson to prepare oneself more thoroughly, both physically and mentally.
