Apple is rumored to be partnering with Intel as an iPhone chip supplier.
Apple is rumored to be re-establishing its iPhone chip manufacturing partnership with Intel, although the chip design will still be developed entirely by Apple.

As reported by Macrumors on Monday, this information was revealed from a research note by GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu.

In his report, Jeff Pu said Intel is expected to begin supplying some chips to Apple using Intel's 14A fabrication process, which is targeted to be ready for mass production in 2028.

Jeff Pu also previously predicted that Intel would strike a chip supply deal with Apple for a number of non-Pro iPhone models starting in 2028.

Based on these estimates, Intel could potentially produce some of the A21 or A22 chips for the next-generation iPhone.

However, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is said to still be Apple's main partner in chip manufacturing .

Jeff Pu emphasized that there is no indication that Intel will be involved in the design of the iPhone chip . Intel's role is expected to be limited to the fabrication process, unlike the era of Intel-based Macs, which used Intel-designed processors with the x86 architecture.
