It was a long night as residents of Dakar, Senegal celebrated their national team's qualification on Wednesday for the final of the 35th African Cup of Nations.

''Today we are very happy for the Senegalese team. So I want to congratulate all the players. We saw that they defended well. The Egyptians were on their goal, and we pushed to score our first goal. It was really great, because they (the Egyptians) didn't really play. Senegal led almost the entire match. Many Senegalese people went to the monument at the Renaissance Monument in Dakar to celebrate this feat. The party was not only Senegalese, Junior Nyenge, Congolese based in Dakar, also celebrated this fourth qualification of the Lions of Teranga in the final of the African Cup of Nations football.

Despite clear domination against the Egyptians, the Senegalese had to wait before finding their way to the goals. The delivery came in the 78th minute.
