The CAF disciplinary jury delivered its verdict on Wednesday, almost two weeks after the CAN Morocco 2025 final between Senegal and the host country.
Teranga Lions coach Pape Bouna Thiaw is suspended for five CAF matches and will face a fine of $100,000 for unsportsmanlike behavior, violation of the principles of fair play and integrity, and damage to the image of football. Furthermore, Iliman Cheikh Baroy Ndiaye and Ismaïla Sarr were each suspended for two matches for unsportsmanlike behavior. In total, these are $715,000 that the Senegalese Football Federation must pay to CAF.
For its part, Morocco was also sanctioned. 415,000 dollars fine to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) for various acts: unsportsmanlike behavior, inappropriate behavior of players and ball boys. On an individual level, Achraf Hakimi received a one-match suspension, while Ismaël Saibari was suspended for three matches and fined $100,000.
Finally, the CAF disciplinary jury rejected the complaint lodged by the FRMF concerning alleged violations of articles 82 and 84 of the Regulations of the African Cup of Nations, attributed to the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) at the end of the TotalEnergies CAN Maroc 2025 final.
