A tribute was paid Wednesday to Alex Pretti, the 37-year-old nurse shot dead by federal agents in Minneapolis last Saturday on the sidelines of a demonstration against the federal immigration police.
Candles and flowers were placed at the improvised memorial in his honor, while anger and incomprehension remain very strong in the city. I oscillated between feelings of depression, grief, and rage... and it seemed like a good way to be with my fellow healthcare professionals. I feel like he's one of us, explains Harmonie Pirius, registered nurse from Minneapolis.
The two border police officers involved in the death of Alex Pretti have been temporarily suspended from their duties according to several American media. Ongoing investigations will have to determine the responsibilities of the agents involved. President Donald Trump has promised a small de-escalation and partial withdrawal of the masked men surrounding Minneapolis.
